March First Friday

Come and see what we've been working on!

At the conclusion of the exhibit, Bogle and Schanberger have organized a potluck, For Your Inspiration. Instead of bringing food, visitors are asked to bring an example of something that influences them, such as sound recordings, video, magazine clippings or books to share with those in attendance.

The closing reception is scheduled for Friday March 1st  5 – 10 pm.

I might even let you look at my Matisse book.

it's drawerly

While taking a look at the anthotype on its second to last day of exposure, I noticed the interaction of the pajama pattern, plexi, clear tarp and the snow / ice coating.

I want to make up a word to describe it: drawerly.

Wife and Husband Collaborate on Art Exhibition

Opening February 1st, First Friday, the Blue Sky Gallery, 8 North Main Street, hosts Your Turn a collaborative exhibition of the work of nationally-known photographer, Francis Schanberger and his wife, painter, Bridgette Bogle.

Schanberger will be exhibiting photographs based on his wanderings around Dayton and photographs made in response to his wife’s paintings. Bogle, in turn, will display abstract paintings made in answer to her environs as well as paintings directly inspired by Schanberger’s images.

The artists delight in extracting ingredients from each other’s work: formal elements, ideas about their hometown and their respective media, then reshaping these components into new pieces of their own. Despite cohabitating for over a decade, the couple has never before collaborated.

At the conclusion of the exhibit, Bogle and Schanberger have organized a potluck, For Your Inspiration. Instead of bringing food, visitors are asked to bring an example of something that influences them, such as sound recordings, video, magazine clippings or books to share with those in attendance. The opening reception is scheduled for 6 – 10 pm on Friday, February 1st and the closing reception is scheduled for Friday March 1nd also 6 – 10 pm.
